MMC 1540 - Media Aesthetics

Course Description:  This course is an introduction to media design and aesthetics.  The course will introduce concepts and terminology while exploring how the media communicate meanings within a culture.  Principles of visual literacy and how these principles may be utilized for the critical analysis of the media will also be investigated.

SPC 2608 - Public Speaking

Course Description:  This course is designed to introduce basic information about speaking in relatively formal situations of public communication.  Emphasis will be on understanding the rhetorical principles of speech composition and preparation, verbal and non-verbal skills of delivery and critical listening.  Practical speaking opportunities will be provided to help apply this information and to guide in evaluating the effectiveness of your speaking and the speaking of others.
